I managed to fix the faulty power button by spraying graphite spray on it and cleaning the contacts; after opening the Maestria d500 with a Pan Head oval security screwdriver.

I remember using a Sky cable descrambler back in Cebu. I recall that they used to use a Gen. Instruments Jerrold CFT2254 Cable TV Converter Box. Those cable boxes used this black tamper seal. It was weird when I moved into Shaw territory because they use a different tuner, Motorola Direct HDPVR Digital Satellite Receiver with 320GB Hard drive, but they also use the tamper seal. I had some initial problems with installation, not knowing what to do with the little things, but once I contacted customer service everything was resolved. I'm really enjoying the cable box now. The convenience of the search, PVR operations, the overall menu functions are so much better than the older CFT2200.
