the field tech came out to the house the other day and insalled my cable. yay! weird, but the first thing i went to is google, what is a TR75GATL is. i didn't want my provider to penalize me for keeping a lost tool or charging me a fee for it. i phone the office and told the receptionist that the field tech left this tool in my yard. a few days later he came back and picked it up with thanks and said no one is generally this honest. some time later i started getting bad results with the signal. i thought back to this tool for some odd reason. i read some where online during searching for what the tool was that " RF terminators are used to absorb energy and prevent RF signals from reflecting back from open-ended or unused ports. " due to the low signal i was having, i figured what the hey, i'll order my own tool - they are only like a few bucks and besides i can keep it around like a shovel or hammer for when i need it. i removed what i think was the rf terminator from the splitter in the dinning room and like magic the cable signal got faster and clear again. i'll know for sure if i did the right thing when the long awaited scheduled appointment comes around, but until then because of this cable tool i don't have to endure horrible signal until the cable technician gets here.
