In my case the One eye piece isn't working at all and the other is full of glitches. the only thing left was to tear it down and get into the circuit board - up close and personal like. most of the nintendo screwdrivers are advertised as being long enough to reach the screws. some are while the notch aren't worth a darn once you reach the screw, while other aren't long enough. after receiving pretty good shipping time i cracked open the virtual boy for the first time to poke around. on the circuit board was fine hair like circuit trace that had a small torn piece in it. a soldering iron and drop of solder brought it back to life.
