NOT!!It just pissed me off more, because I couldn't find a thin enough pen to fit into the long tubular cylinder hole of the virtual boy. Taking off the shallow hole nintendo screws is alright, but those deep holes are a challenge.Thank goodness I found a post in digitpress forum that led me here. I needed a long enough 4.5mm gamebit security screwdriver to open the virtual boy, because the virtual boy deepest hole is over 1.5 inches deep and less than .25 inches wide. I tried some other gamebits from other website's including the ones sold on amazon and ebay where the sellers claimed they were long enough. None of them worked for me - maybe I bought from the wrong sellers. Actually, one seller from this auction had a long one but when I tried it I had to force it into the .25 inches wide hole - I even used the drill to open it wider. After all that it stripped out while trying to turn the gambit screw. Now this one, that I bought here, was skinny and long enough before the octogonal part of the bit. It properly reached the screw in the long screw well. A slight turn with my finger removed the gamebit security screw from the virtual boy successfully. I have used it several times now and each time it works flawlessly without hitch. After receiving my order I thought I was going to be disappointed, but I came to the conclusion after using the gamebit that it is long enough to reach the four deepest screws. The deepest ones are 45mm deep and bit is over 47mm long. Other bits have used are only 20mm. So, I am happy with your pro gamebit solution! Found them incredibly easy to use on most of my retro gaming collection. Ranging from use on my SNES, N64, NES, Game Gear Consoles, but most importantly both game bits are remarkably strong and long in length. When I went to open and repair the Virtual Boy to my surprise the game bit loosened up all the screw heads without any noticeable wear. I loaned the set to my buddy who owes a hobby store and he swears that he had no problem taking apart N64, Gameboy, Mega Drive, Master System, Game Gear, and a Jerrold GI cable box. When the game bits were given back, he said he had run the game bit through a hand drill. I wouldn't have know if he didn't mention it to me. Still there is no wear on any of the game bit!
