SA 8600 Version 1 & Version 2
SA 8600 Cable boxes
have 2 versions that this test chip will work with, Version 1 & Version 2.
This chip will work
with both Versions of the SA 8600 cable box.
The New Version of the
8600 Cable Box is referred to as Version 2. There are 2 differences between
Version 1 and Version 2. The first is that there was a capacitor added to the
main board, between buttons 6 & 7. If the Capacitor is there you have a Version
2, if the capacitor is not there, you have Version 1.
The second difference
is that the there is a square SA logo that was also added to the left side of
the name on the front red lens in the lower left hand corner. The first version
0f the 8600 does not have the Logo on the lens and capacitor between buttons 6 &
7.
