After several questions from the Help desk and Tech support which were very happy to help me I finally figured how to record an old BW movie. WOW what great. Quality I was really surprised.. This will now solve my problem of deleting good movies because my Dvr builds up so fast.. Memory stick USB hard drive or memory card. They all work fine. Not. A Better product around. Fred Tristar MX HD PVR Gameplay Recorder Player hd pvr internal memory donald s*** - 03rd December 2012 The product is an easy out-of-the box solution for someone like me who needed an HD PVR with internal hard drive and internal memory. Hookup is easy, capturing is easy with no tricky setup rules. It was pretty much straightforward for me. The generated video upscaling look great when viewing it through the DVR, but when you view it on the computer you have to use software to increase resolution bit rate, but other than that there is no real complaint, because it works for what I bought it for - to record video games without using a computer and complicated connection hook ups. The price isn't too bad when you consider it does not require a computer to work. Coming from a Dazzle, the quality of the capture is decent and a huge improvement. Since it took weeks to get a hd pvr machine in stock for me to order, I will settle with giving this review a solid 3. In the future I would like to see newelectronx keep its stock levels up on the product I want to buy. It's probably the most practical for those of who like to record digital cable and video games. The only downfall is that it doesn't have a built in tuner. The way I have it hooked up, it will capture videos allowing me to record whatever I see on my TV. I like it because I can store music on it. I also put some pictures on it and especially for the TV recording and game recording feature. So far, my use it is good besides the tuner - so my review is worth a 4.5 stars.
