The tamper proof star lock keys and tools will work with spring-loaded lock (hook) installed in the pedestal top that automatically engages a base catch installed in the pedestal base. Most tools required for lock activation must have a specific computerize star key pattern to match it. Simply align the tamper proof star key pedestal tool over the base of the slam lock. The slam lock (hook) is unlocked and opened by a 1/4 turn rotation of the tamper-proof bolt with the star key. The top of the pedestal cabinet enclosure drops onto the base and automatically engages the lock when finished with your installation, service / troubleshooting,  tap upgrade, basic cable service, disconnection, reconnection, preventative maintenance, or relocation of MDU.
